For this module, our tasks are divided into 2, which are the exercises & projects and Flip classroom. For the first FLIP, we were tasked as a group to make a presentation regarding different types of infographic including what they are applicable for and the examples.
For this group task, we divided our task into each member taking 2 different types of infographic. At first, we gathered all of the data through google doc. and then we combined it into a power point presentation.
Here is our presentation slides:
After the group work, we were also tasked to redesign a poorly constructed infographic using the selected tools. We need to make a comparison between the before and after and also review the tool that we used.
For this task, I decided to look for a process infographic. I did few research and honestly it was really hard to find the poorly constructed one. So I searched a more specific topic which is a process infographic related to business. I found some badly designed templates but I decided that I wanted to go with this one.
The second reason is because the template used doesn't seem to be a very effective alternative to explain about process. The flow is not clear and it might come out a bit confusing to some people.
The last reason is because of the typography and illustration. Each element doesn't look complimentary to each other.
After finding the bad infographic, I decided to redesign it using canva. Since this is the first time for me using canva software, I tried to get references from existing template. However I changed most of the elements to avoid plagiarism.
Here is the original template that I chose:

I changed the line in the middle into arrows to indicate process. I also changed the background and the font to match the aesthetic.
I thought I was finished with my work until I realized that there are some stuff that look a bit off. I realized that the illustration looks too dull and the white text font are barely seen. In conclusion, I was not satisfied with my result.
So then I decided to make a new one inspired by few references I found from Pinterest:
I decided that I wanted to go with more cutesy theme. Here is my result:
